Fetchmail/Procmail often skips unread emails

Can you guys take a look and let me know if there is a resolution. Is this a common problem with fetchmail?

I found a solution, use IMAP since POP3 does not allow local server to track what has been seen or not and from what it looks like it is not controllable from fetchmail.

SO now I added
" poll imap.gmail.com protocol IMAP "

and for options added "keep"

Keep is required for IMAP since there is no default setting under gmail for IMAP to keep messages accessed through IMAP. There is for POP3 since the information can't be shared (synchronized) between servers any other way.

POP3 at best is unpredictable in this case.
